The Bulk Cement Driver (CDL) safely operates assigned commercial vehicles and equipment to transport bulk cement, completions equipment, and related cargo to customer locations and rig sites. This role is responsible for loading, unloading, securing, and transporting cargo in accordance with company job safety analyses (JSAs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), DOT requirements, and applicable Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate assigned bulk cement trucks, including dry powder bulk units, Class A CDL equipment, winch/flatbed equipment, and related transport equipment used to move bulk cement and completions equipment to and from oilfield locations.
Load, unload, secure, and transport cargo safely between company facilities, customer locations, and rig sites.
Rig up and rig down bulk equipment, iron, hoses, lines, tanks, and cement pump connections in accordance with company JSAs, SOPs, customer requirements, and applicable DOT/CMV standards.
Support cementing operations at the wellsite, including coordinating with the supervisor, pump operator, rig crew, and other field personnel as assigned.
Perform required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; identify maintenance concerns; and report equipment issues, defects, or safety concerns promptly.
Complete required electronic logs, hours-of-service records, field tickets, inspection forms, transportation documentation, and other DOT/FMCSA or company records accurately and on time.
Follow company safety procedures, JSAs, SOPs, DOT and FMCSA requirements, CMV standards, hours-of-service rules, load securement requirements, and customer site rules.
Assist with shop work, maintenance support, deliveries, and other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
Valid, active Class A CDL required; tanker and hazmat endorsements must be obtained or maintained when required by assigned equipment, customer requirements, or applicable regulations.
Minimum three (3) years of heavy haul driving experience preferred, including experience with winch trucks, flatbeds, floats, or comparable oilfield transport equipment.
Demonstrated safe driving record and ability to satisfy company driver qualification standards and FMCSA driver qualification file requirements, including MVR review, medical certification verification, road test or accepted equivalent, and ongoing annual review requirements.
Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, CMV standards, hours-of-service requirements, electronic logging requirements, load securement, vehicle inspection requirements, and applicable state and interstate highway laws.
Basic working knowledge of diesel engines, heavy equipment, and minor mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting preferred.
Ability to read and follow JSAs, SOPs, load documentation, field tickets, inspection forms, and company safety procedures.
Basic math, writing, and computer or mobile-device skills required for logs, tickets, inspections, and job documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, vendors, and field personnel in a professional manner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in field, road, shop, and customer-site environments.
Ability to work varied shifts, extended hours, nights, weekends, rotational schedules, and travel as required by business and customer needs.
Reliable phone communication and dependable transportation required.
Must maintain a valid DOT medical certification and remain medically qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
Subject to all applicable DOT and FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing when applicable.
Must comply with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements, including required queries and consent.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and sit for extended periods while operating commercial motor vehicles and related equipment.
Must have sufficient grip strength and manual dexterity to secure loads, operate valves and hoses, connect/disconnect iron, handle tools, and perform equipment inspections.
Work is performed in field, road, shop, and outdoor environments, including exposure to temperature extremes, weather conditions, moderate noise levels, heavy equipment, moving vehicles, and oilfield locations.
Must be able to safely operate CDL-required equipment, including bulk cement trucks, winch/flatbed equipment, 40-foot floats, and related completions equipment, consistent with DOT and company safety requirements.
Must be able to pass DOT drug and alcohol pre-employment testing, DOT-compliant post-offer physical, and job-relevant screens, including vision, hearing/audiogram, musculoskeletal assessment, pulmonary screening, drug screen, and functional capacity evaluation as required for the role.
Typical work schedule may include 12-hour shifts, field rotations, travel up to approximately 75%, nights, weekends, and after-hours work as business needs require.
