POSITION SUMMARY
This position works within a team of 4 people reporting to the Production Supervisor. The team will run two adjacent quality inspection units. The team may consist of the Vision Technician, Operator 1 and Operator 2. This position is responsible for assisting with running the machine in designated zones and basic troubleshooting under the supervision of the Production Supervisor. This position is also responsible for following the reaction plan to notify the Production Supervisor and /or Line Lead (PT), in the event of excessive rejects or machine downtime.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Understand the Standards of Operations (SOPs) and required TPM’s. Insure the checklist documentation is signed as the duties are performed.
Record accurate downtimes for the machines on the appropriate logs.
Participate in the shift changeover communications with your relief. Cover maintenance, reject and production issues so they have a full understanding of the machines current condition.
Monitor production performing visual can inspection at prescribed intervals during production. Insure that defect cans are not being stacked in finished good trays in the palletizers. Check to see if the machine is causing any damage to the cans. Document via log. Report any adverse findings immediately to the Production Supervisor and or Line Lead (PT)
Be aware of reject rates at the inspection unit including root causes and follow the reaction plan escalation process in case of rejects above the described thresholds. Notify the Production Supervisor and / or Line Lead (PT) immediately
Perform general housekeeping duties in your assigned area as needed and described in the TPM procedure.
Follow company policies, procedures and comply with standard safety rules and regulations.
Work as a team player and proactively support the continuous improvement process by attending workshops, recommending adjustments standard work instructions, taking part in problem solving meetings and helping to find root causes.
Support in developing and improving the work environment to reach the goal of 667k output/line per shift.
Adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and follow all safety processes and protocols

High School diploma or equivalent
Team player, dedicated to overall company performance and the ability to get along with others
Self-motivated with enthusiasm and drive; able to work independently as needed
Reliable attendance on-site required
Ability to work various shifts if needed, to support a 24/7 operation
Must be at least 18 years of age

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to handle or feel

Occasionally required to sit or crawl
Occasionally required to lift, up to 35lbs.
Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to inspect small parts visually and through the use of magnifyingequipment and to perceive depth to set up equipment.
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with a moderate to high noise level, experiencing vibration on a regularbasis
Regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
Must be able to lift one box of parts weighing 35lbs
Must be able to reach to use tools and equipment, to manipulate and feel small parts for inspection
