Role: Product Design Engineer
Location: 2550 N First Street Suite 250, San Jose, California 95131
Compensation*: $150,000-$200,000 + benefits
Role Description: We are seeking a Product Design Engineer with a mechanical engineering background and 3+ years of product development experience to support the advancement of next‑generation AR devices for industrial and frontline applications. This is a full‑time, on‑site role in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Support proof‑of‑concept development and product specification activities.
Design test fixtures and experiments to validate mechanical concepts.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop subsystem designs.
Address day‑to‑day production issues and implement effective solutions.
Design, build and deliver mechanical prototypes.
Conduct hands‑on troubleshooting, teardown, assembly, and validation work.
Travel to supplier sites as needed (10–15% domestic and international travel).
3+ years of product development experience, preferred.
Proficiency in 3D CAD (PTC Creo preferred) with familiarity in top‑down design methodology.
Working knowledge of GD&T, plastics, injection molding, sheet metal, and CNC processes.
Experience creating detailed 2D drawings with GD&T and tolerancing.
Familiarity with 3D printing technologies.
Self-motivated problem solver.
Strong problem‑solving skills with hands‑on design and build experience.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Compensation may vary within the posted range based on relevant experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for equity and other forms of compensation. Eligible employees also receive a competitive benefits package, including unlimited PTO.
