The job
As part of our Industrial Platform Group, you will join a talented team of software engineers dedicated to designing, developing, and evolving CONNECT - the core industrial intelligence platform at AVEVA. CONNECT powers a diverse range of digital solutions deployed across global industries by AVEVA and our partners.
In this role, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and engineering teams to understand requirements, shape system architecture, and deliver scalable platform capabilities. Your contributions will directly impact how CONNECT supports our customers’ digital transformation journeys and ensures long-term value for partners and the wider AVEVA ecosystem. We are looking for developers with a proven record of successfully implementing complex technical solutions. While prior experience of cloud development will be an advantage, this is also an opportunity to move into cloud development for talented developers who wish to move into the cloud.
Key responsibilities
Collaborate with software engineers to design and develop core features of CONNECT.
Optimize platform scalability, reliability, and performance to meet evolving industry standards.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across platform services and interfaces.
Monitor and analyse platform metrics to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including code reviews, testing, and planning as part of an agile development team.
Essential requirements
A STEM degree or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience in software development.
Competence in object-oriented software design, with an appreciation of coding and design for maintainability, extensibility, testability, and reuse.
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservice design patterns.
Experience developing in C# .NET or similar.
Strong communication skills, with experience working closely with other developers.
Desired skills and competencies
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, such as Cosmos DB, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Service Bus, Event Hub, and Application Insights.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems principles.
Web development using Angular or equivalent
