In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring excellent product availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels across the business.
As an Inventory & Demand Lead at Nisbets, you will work collaboratively with Category, Product, Supply Chain, and Supplier partners to deliver accurate demand forecasts, manage stock health, and drive continuous improvement across inventory planning processes. You will use forecasting and inventory management tools to identify trends, mitigate supply risks, and support commercial decision-making.
This is a fast-paced and analytical role, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent planning skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions. You will be responsible for balancing availability, stock cover, supplier performance, and inventory investment while contributing to ongoing process improvements and operational efficiencies.
This role will be based in Avonmouth, with flexibility to work from home as part of a hybrid working pattern.
Key Accountabilities
Drive improvements in forecast accuracy and stock availability through effective use of demand planning and inventory management tools.
Review and manage forecast exceptions, ensuring demand planning parameters are maintained and regularly updated.
Create and maintain forecasts for new product launches and promotional activities.
Monitor and improve stock health, proactively identifying and managing slow-moving or underperforming lines.
Analyse unusual demand patterns and take corrective action to minimise availability risks.
Review trading profiles and demand trends to continuously improve forecasting accuracy.
Collaborate with Category Management teams to optimise lead times, supplier performance, minimum order quantities, and end-of-life planning.
Calculate and manage supplier purchase orders to ensure timely product availability.
Maintain order books, including promise date accuracy, stock shortage reporting, delivery discrepancy resolution, and purchase order adjustments.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date operational procedures and documentation.
Manage stakeholder relationships across Category, Product, IT, Suppliers, Distribution Centres, and Supply Chain Operations.
Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly planning activities are completed accurately and on time.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, or supply chain planning within a fast-paced, multi-SKU environment.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Intermediate to Advanced level).
Experience using resource planning, forecasting, or ERP systems.
Understanding of inventory control principles, supplier performance metrics, lead times, and stock availability management.
Knowledge of long supply chain planning and inventory optimisation techniques.
Experience using reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI would be advantageous.
Previous experience leading or mentoring team members would be beneficial.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
A collaborative and flexible approach with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
