Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking someone to join our Jefferson Road Operations Center (JROC) facility in Henrietta, NY, and become an integral part of a team dedicated to producing cutting-edge tactical communications products. This 1st shift Receiving Inspector role offers either a typical 5/8 work schedule or flexible 9/80 schedule. This opportunity entails inspection of a wide variety of part categories (electronic components, boards, fabrication, etc.), all supporting mission critical manufacturing. If you have a keen eye for detail, a mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with measurement instruments and computer systems, this position is perfect for you.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for performing inspections, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming purchased parts, materials & equipment used in the manufacture of L3Harris product.
Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials and recording quality results.
Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and other documentation, to approve or reject incoming materials using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements.
Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
Mechanical aptitude desired.
Inspection results are documented electronically, so computer proficiency is required.
Must have good English written and verbal communication skills.
Traversing across the production floor for the duration of their shift (up to 12 hours).
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant inspection experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related inspection experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to use measurement equipment and tools (Calipers, Ohm Meters, Magnification Aids, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings and specifications.
Computer Proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of IPC-600, IPC-620 standards, is a plus.
