The Facility Operations Assistant performs routine manual tasks including breaking down and restocking bulk inventory, filling supply requisitions, and delivering supplies to hospital units. They also assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and physical audits to ensure accurate stock levels.
Candidates must be physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting over 50 lbs and standing for long periods. A valid New York State driver's license and a Powered Industrial Truck Operator Permit are required, along with at least five years of experience in warehouse inventory protocols.

Duties of a Facility Operations Assistant 1 - Supply Management Services may include the following but are not limited to:
Qualifications
Required: Must be physically able to perform the duties assigned. Possession of a valid New York State drivers license may be required. The ability to read, write, speak and understand verbal communication at a basic level.
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalency. Candidate must have a valid Powered Industrial Truck Operator Permit and minimum 5 years’ experience; Minimum five years’ experience and knowledge of warehouse inventory protocols. Recommended: Knowledge of Medical/Surgical inventory supplies, working knowledge of inventory reconciliation. Able to stand for long periods of time and capable of lifting over 50 lbs.
Note, this title was previously ‘Laborer’ and was changed by the NYS Department of Civil Service effective 9/13/2018.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $37,862 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:
