Salary Range: $13 - $14 / Hour

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Life Enrichment Coordinators in our Memory Care “I’m Still Here” (ISH) program support residents throughout the day by assisting with personal care and leading recreational and social activities. They help design and facilitate meaningful, purpose-driven programs that encourage engagement, social connection, and a sense of belonging. They also help maintain a clean, orderly resident living area (“neighborhood”) and assist in training staff who support memory care residents. This is primarily a part-time weekend role (Saturday/Sunday).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists the Memory Care Program Director (MCPD) in delivering care and program activities that address the interests, needs and abilities of all residents.
Assists in planning the ISH Program monthly activity calendar to provide a balance of social, psychosocial, physical, spiritual, and emotional activities.
Works with the memory care leadership team to train and assist CNAs in facilitating activities.
Leads programming while CNAs are assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Works with the MCPD and the Nurse Manager to ensure multiple activities are running between the hours of 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
Assembles all materials and supplies for activities and communicates schedule and location of program events to the care team.
Accompanies residents on occasional outings and arranges transportation as needed for residents to participate in appropriate community activities.
Ensures that the resident environment reflects the appropriate seasonal décor and is neat and orderly.
Uses the ISH program curriculum to provide opportunities for all residents to regularly engage in cognitively stimulating activities (Montessori, Serper, etc.)
Incorporates cultural experiences on a regular basis (art appreciation programs, Artist for Alzheimer’s volunteers, local community group visits, etc).
Ensures resident activity participation is properly annotated in program and medical records.
Maintains ISH program supplies and equipment.
OTHER DUTIES:
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Memory Care Program Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work with elderly adults impacted by various forms of dementia.

Strong planning, organizational, presentation and facilitation skills.
Demonstrates understanding and empathy for the unique needs of the elderly.
Must display a courteous, friendly and helpful customer-service oriented attitude toward residents, family members, and other stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Two years of experience working in an elder care environment, with memory care experience strongly preferred.
PERSONAL AND PUBLIC CONTACT
Will have personal contact with all levels of Carillon staff, residents, family members, vendors, and other elder care professionals.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to sit for up to 25% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk throughout the community for up to 75% of the workday. Must be able to push or pull 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to bend and reach. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
OSHA TASK CATEGORY I

COMPLIANCE
