The Certified Surgical Technologist functions as a scrub person during operative and invasive procedures. They are also responsible for cleaning and preparing surgical instruments and maintaining the sterility of the operating room.
Candidates must be a high school graduate and have completed an accredited Surgical Technologist program. At least one year of experience and a current Surgical Technologist certification are required.
