Responsible for the prevention, assessment, and treatment of athletic injuries while serving as a physician extender in the clinic. The role involves providing coverage at athletic events and collaborating with schools and community groups.
Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training with BOC and NATA certification. Must hold a current Wisconsin Athletic Trainer license and BLS certification.
Responsible for assisting with the prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning of athletic injuries as set forth by the National Athletic Trainer Association Board of Certification. Demonstrates competency in taping, strapping, bracing and fitting of athletic equipment and ability to carry out prescribed treatments and recommendations by referring providers. Performs responsibilities as a physician extender in the clinic. Responsible for coverage as assigned at MCHS supported athletic events, at contracted schools/community groups for pre-season events, athletic practices, and/or sporting events. This position delivers preventative care and treatment to athletes within the scope of their licenses. Serves as a liaison of Mayo Clinic Health System to collaborate with schools and the community. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Participates in operational aspects of the department, performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality improvement projects. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs.
