Monash Health Foundation is the fundraising arm of Monash Health, nurturing and encouraging philanthropic, corporate and community funding, enabling us to provide a quality service and positive experiences for the people we care for.
About the Role
Join the Monash Health Foundation team as our Philanthropy Coordinator and play a key role in growing philanthropic support for one of Australia's largest public health services. This is a full-time, ongoing position, Monday to Friday. Applications from candidates seeking to work part-time (four days per week) will also be considered.
Based at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, the role may require occasional travel across Monash Health sites and offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements where appropriate.
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you will work closely with the Philanthropy team and the broader Foundation team to provide high-quality coordination, project management, prospect research and reporting that supports the solicitation or stewardship of major donors and their projects.
As our Philanthropy Coordinator, you will:
Coordinate key internal processes with internal stakeholders to ensure donor gifts are allocated, processed and acknowledged accurately, with appropriate documentation and stewardship.
Prepare timely, accurate reports, dashboards and insights to support fundraising performance.
Conduct research and analysis to identify new funding opportunities.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective major donors, including high-net-worth individuals, trusts, foundations and corporate partners.
Support donor conversion and stewardship activities, including grant applications, agreements and engagement planning.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using CRM, ensuring data integrity, compliance and meaningful reporting.
About You
You are a highly organised and proactive professional who enjoys working behind the scenes to enable successful fundraising outcomes. You are solutions focused, with strong analytical and coordination skills. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about supporting philanthropy that makes a meaningful difference.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience in prospect research, fundraising, philanthropy, or the not-for-profit sector.
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
A proactive, adaptable approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
High accuracy and a strong focus on maintaining quality data.
Professional, trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
Experience using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
A tertiary qualification in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of, or experience in, the Australian philanthropic sector is desirable.
