Job Summary
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the Cyclotron system design, integration, verification, installation, and lifecycle support of cyclotron-based medical imaging and radiopharmaceutical production systems. This role serves as a technical leader across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring system performance, reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, and serviceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the system-level design and architecture of cyclotron subsystems, translating product requirements into technical specifications. Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities, including test plan development and execution. Conduct root cause analysis of complex technical issues and implement effective solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, clinical, and regulatory departments. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and risk assessments. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Stay abreast of new technologies and industry trends in medical imaging and system engineering. Ensure compliance with relevant medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, CE) and quality management systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related technical discipline. Experience with cyclotrons, particle accelerators, medical imaging systems, radiopharmaceutical production equipment, or other high-energy physics systems is highly preferred.
Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, including significant experience in complex system development.
Experience with systems engineering methodologies and product lifecycle management.
Experience of leading technical investigations and root cause analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Project leadership, demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
