Minimum Qualifications:
BTech / BEngTech / BSc / BEng in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
A postgraduate qualification in geotechnical engineering, tailings, mine waste, or water management would be beneficial but is not essential.

Experience with tailings storage facilities, embankments, construction monitoring, deposition planning, or geotechnical investigations would be preferred.
Site experience would be important, as the role needs to understand practical implementation and not only documentation.
Working Arrangements:
The role will require a combination of regular visits to operating sites and office-based work. The focus will initially be on our Zambian operations but will extend to support other operations across the group.
Key Skills:
Strong Excel skills, including basic calculations, tracking tables, summaries, and charts.
Ability to work with survey surfaces, drawings, produce cross-sections, and perform volume calculations.
Ability to understand and organise monitoring data, including piezometers, pond levels, rainfall, survey monuments, and deformation data.
Ability to read technical reports and extract actions, assumptions, risks, and follow-up items.
Good technical writing and reporting skills.
Good attention to detail and document-control discipline.
Ability to coordinate with site teams, consultants, contractors, and Group.
Practical mindset and willingness to follow up actions until they are closed.
Basic understanding of tailings storage facility governance, Operations, Maintenance and Surveillance requirements, Trigger Action Response Plans, design-change control, and risk registers would be beneficial.
