Collaborate with engineers to optimize equipment utilization and maintain workplace safety standards. Responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and repairing testers and components while documenting test results and KPIs.
Requires an Associate's degree or a High School diploma with at least one year of related experience. Preferred candidates have a background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or the semiconductor industry.
As an Engineering Technician, you will frequently collaborate with Engineers across Qualcomm to optimize the utilization of our equipment and components. You will play a key role in the preliminary stages of our technical processes. Engineering Technicians will also be responsible for upkeeping and implementing operations and safety standards in the workplace to ensure all components of our equipment is properly handled.
• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ year of experience with general computer skills and Microsoft applications.
• 1+ year of experience in Semiconductor or related industry.
• 1+ year of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• Sets up and maintains benches, testers, and other equipment. Transports, installs, upgrades, and configures equipment and components.
• Performs measurements, documents test results and KPIs, and maintains malfunction records.
• Troubleshoots and performs repair work, rework, removal, and adjustments to equipment as necessary with individuals inside own team and with other teams.
• Sets up test equipment using hand tools or automatic test methods to perform tests of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Executes manual and automated test plans and provides some input on test cases and test procedures; reproduces and debugs issues.
• Tracks the purchasing, shipping/transporting, receiving, and usage of inventory and equipment for test labs, field engineering, and business unit projects.
