The Laboratory Technician tests and analyzes oil-based lubricants using ASTM methods and internal procedures to ensure product quality. They are responsible for logging samples, performing SQC analysis, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.
A high school diploma is required, with some college coursework and QC laboratory experience preferred. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be willing to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Job Summary:
The Lab Technician is to test and analyze oil-based lubricants and associated components. The Lab Tech must use internal procedures and ASTM methods, along with good laboratory technique, to analyze samples. The Lab Tech also performs SQC analysis, along with other quality checks, to ensure equipment is performing properly and that the results reported are accurate and representative of the sample. The Lab Technician must assist the Chemists in managing the samples that come in during the shift, and ensure they are properly analyzed in the correct priority, efficiently. This position is critical to the company as it ensures the quality of the fluid packaged/sold.
