Ongoing full-time opportunity and temporary opportunities available (35 hours per week)
Office location upon negotiation across NSW, hybrid working supported
Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $112,375 to $124,158 + super
Our Marine Coast Estuary and Flood team is seeking to appoint Project Officers. These roles support delivery of the NSW Floodplain Management Program including technical and policy advice as well as project delivery across NSW.
In this role, you will manage and enhance flood-related databases, contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and improvement of the NSW Floodplain Management Program, support the delivery of high-quality flood studies and flood risk management plans, and assist in implementing flood risk management actions across the state.
About You
You demonstrate sound judgement and the ability to operate within defined frameworks, contributing to outcomes aligned with organisational priorities, policies, and business plans. You are comfortable working within established guidelines, including budget parameters, and play an active role in supporting effective flood risk management outcomes.
You will work collaboratively within a team environment, reporting to a senior flood risk management professional, and contributing to shared objectives.
You bring:
Knowledge of flooding processes including understanding and managing flood behaviour to reduce risks to communities
Application of spatial and non-spatial data, with proficiency in relevant systems and software
Experience in data collection, analysis, and report writing
Knowledge of flood risk management frameworks, including relevant legislation, guidelines, and policies
This role does not have direct reports or budget responsibility but requires a proactive and collaborative approach to delivering high-quality outcomes.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
