Provide direct voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpreting services for university faculty, staff, and students. Coordinate with external vendors for transcription and captioning services while managing associated budgets and contracts.
Requires a bachelor's degree and at least five years of interpreting experience with RID, NAD IV, or BEI certification. Must adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct and possess excellent ASL and English interpreting skills.
The work hours for this position may include occasional evenings and weekends.
Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Five years of interpreting experience
RID, NAD IV and above or BEI certification in good standing (please include certification on your application)
Adheres to RID’s Code of Professional Conduct
Excellent ASL to English and English to ASL interpreting skills
Ability to render the message faithfully and accurately with the appropriate register
Ability to work effectively with a team interpreter and the Deaf Studies faculty
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience interpreting in higher education settings
Experience working with Deaf professionals
