The role involves designing and analyzing experiments to study protein structure/function relationships in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other organisms. Responsibilities include protein cloning, purification, crystallization, and conducting high-throughput drug screens.
A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related field is required, along with eight years of related experience. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

40% - Design, perform and analyze experiments to study the structure/function relationships of assigned proteins from Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other organisms.
10% - Cloning and expression of proteins of interest.
20% - Purification of proteins in sufficient quantity to obtain crystals. Crystallization of proteins. Data collection and analysis.
10% - Preparing data for grant application
10% - Monitoring and quality control of drug library. High-throughput drug screens. Assist with laboratory management of stocks, supplies and equipment.
5% - Communicating and conducting collaborations with pharmaceutical partners
5% - Training students and other duties as required.

Position Funding: This position is grant funded and availability is contingent on grant funding.
