Since its corporatisation in 1992 as Malaysia Airports Berhad, Malaysia Airports has grown into one of the world’s leading airport operator groups. In 1999, the company was restructured as Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) and became the first Asian airport operator to be publicly listed on Bursa Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
After 25 years as a publicly listed company, Malaysia Airports was delisted in 2025 following a successful privatisation exercise by Gateway Development Alliance (GDA), a consortium in which comprising 70% is owned by Malaysian GLICs - Khazanah Nasional Berhad (via its wholly-owned subsidiary, UEM Group Berhad) and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Remaining investors comprise international investors, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). The Malaysian government remains a special shareholder, ensuring that strategic national interests are safeguarded.
Today, Malaysia Airports manages 39 airports across Malaysia, comprising five international airports, 17 domestic airports, and 17 STOLports (Short Take-Off and Landing airports), alongside Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport in Türkiye.
