The StepStone Portfolio Analytics & Reporting (SPAR) team is a core firmwide function responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on StepStone’s global investment portfolio. The team reviews fund and asset-level data to assess performance, track investment activity, and ensure accuracy and consistency across client reporting, supporting both investment decision-making and client transparency.

 

• For college students or graduates looking to gain exposure to the private markets industry, develop skills for
  investment analysis, and work towards potential full-time career opportunities with StepStone.
• Junior Analysts will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of financial markets by working closely with the
  performance analysis team and assisting in investment monitoring and reporting efforts.
• Opportunity to work with and contribute to the StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics and Reporting team supporting client
  service. Specifically supporting the performance analysis teams and working with the Global DARO operations model
  including offices in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia
• Full-time (40 hours per week) opportunity for a 16-week period with the possibility to extend or transition to a
  permanent role.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor quarter-over-quarter fund performance by tracking underlying portfolio investments
• Process cash flow notices and track cash movement between funds and our clients
• Monitor and process outstanding data needed for client teams to complete reporting
• Reconcile quarterly capital account information
• Correspondence with internal and external parties
• Assist the team on specific monthly, quarterly, annual, or ad hoc projects and client-related requests
• Monitor and report of the investment activity and performance of leading private equity firms
• Manage data requests and reporting deadlines for assigned clients
• Review operating metrics of portfolio investments reported by fund managers

What we're looking for

• Relevant coursework or work experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; please note that all interviews will be conducted in English
• Promote and demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Dynamic, hard-working and a self-starter
• Significant experience with Microsoft Excel or Power BI
• Basic knowledge of accounting and working knowledge of the financial services industry
• Interest in Global Financial Markets and Private Markets
• Strong attention to detail
