Deliver engineering design and estimation services for overhead and underground electricity distribution projects. Coordinate resources, prepare quotations, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Requires a practical engineer or estimator with experience in power distribution networks and knowledge of network construction. Proficiency in estimating systems and familiarity with Powerco standards or Neara is desired.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join Downer’s Networks Services team delivering essential electricity infrastructure across New Zealand. This permanent, full-time opportunity is based in our Hamilton office and supports the delivery of design and estimation services across the electricity distribution network. We are open to immediate starters.
As a Design Estimator/Engineer, you will deliver engineering design, estimation, and customer support for both overhead and underground distribution projects. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and contractors to create accurate designs, quotations, and project documentation. Your goal will be to ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

You are a practical and solutions-focused engineer or estimator with experience in power distribution networks. You enjoy working across both design and delivery environments, bring strong attention to detail, and are confident engaging with stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Proficient in estimating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
