The Jordan Design team is comprised of 100+ Designers that are inspired by the Greatest of All Time, and focused on one mission: help athletes fly on and off the court. The Jordan Design Studio is a high performing team that works together to push the boundaries of what is possible, while always staying focused on delivering the best product for our consumer. Capturing and inspiring the heart of the Kid in a way the sparks self-belief in their own inner Greatness, so they too can take flight.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report into the Senior Product Director/Manager, Kids & Core Design and help guide the creative through the design seasonal product creation cycle. You will do so while working with your cross functional Design partners within the Core Design team, along with a team of designers from other Jordan Design functions, developers, product managers, and merchants to deliver creative in line with the Jordan Brand standards.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re currently looking for an incredible Lead Designer to lead and develop seasonal design concepts for our Core apparel business. Product Design at Jordan is a diverse culture of creativity, collaboration and innovative thinking on all levels.
This role requires strong passion and knowledge of apparel product creation and the ability to problem solve every step of the way, from concept to final design. This teammate embodies expert communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into focused design narratives as well as a passion and energy for sport culture and design.
Bachelor’s degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
6+ years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated passion and understanding of trend and visual culture.
Knowledge of apparel product creation and graphic application.
Expert communication and presentation skills using a variety of formats.
Ability to seek out opportunities to elevate apparel graphics through craft and construction.
Proficient in Adobe CC and comfortable working within new digital spaces.
Passion for discovering new talent and points of influence for a global brand.
Highlight and elevate diverse points of view while fostering an environment of inclusivity.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Core Apparel Design is focused on our Core Jordan product business across multiple Jodan Sports. In this role, you will play a critical role in protecting and growing the Core Jordan Apparel business through strong Design Direction in conjunction with the Jordan Sport team’s that the Core product will commercialize through. Ensuring that Jordan IS leading in this area of the business, and that the product resonates with the Core Jordan consumer. You will create products that align with business critical design initiatives that have emotional connection through the use of narrative and storytelling. You will build, explore, envision, and maintain a standard of practice and design excellence, ensuring the highest standard of quality, consistency, accuracy while pushing the boundaries of creativity! You will deliver innovative and well-crafted designs through physical executions. You work well with and within a team to better innovative thinking, collaboration, and partnership.
