Senior Accounting Specialist - Revenue Recognition and Oracle EBS

Royalty Accountant will be responsible for Content Revenue accounting and reporting. They will be involved in the month, quarter and year-end close processes including but not limited to the analysis of content revenue, directly associated costs, and reporting deliverables. They will have the opportunity to work with our Accounting and Finance counterparts to help ensure that all financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP and to provide accounting support, where needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review purchase order and cost reports for license fees, technical services and prepare appropriate cost accruals
  
• Prepare deferred revenues and accrued revenues schedules and journals
  
• Prepare monthly intercompany, revenue accrual, revenue deferral journals
  
• Calculate royalty accruals and prepare periodic royalty statements
  
• Ensure accounting and reporting is in compliance with US GAAP and client’s Accounting Policy
  
• Calculate quarter revenue recognition adjustments
  
• Prepare Deferred Revenue and other related Balance Sheet Reconciliations on Blackline
  
• Liaison with internal and external auditors to support financial and SOX audits
  
• Assist with identifying areas for process improvement that are scalable: to increase productivity; increase efficiency and reduce costs
  
• Assist with special projects and research projects as assigned by the Manager and perform other tasks as needed to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements
  

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in accounting or finance or professional qualifications like CMA/CA Inter.
  
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously. 
  
• Overtime might be required depending on the critical deliverables and timelines.
  
• More than 3 years of general accounting experience, public accounting experience desirable.
  
• Revenue Recognition experience and solid foundation in US GAAP
  
• Ability to interpret complex transactions to determine the proper accounting treatment or disclosure consequences.
  
• Experience with SOX compliance preferred
  
• Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy & integrity
  
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills; proficient in English required.
  
• Previous experience with ERP systems such as Oracle EBS/ SAP preferred
  
• Intermediate to advanced proficient in Excel skills
  
• Self-starter with minimal direction
