Description

Summary: Coordinates and controls the release, scheduling, and execution of production orders to support manufacturing operations, on-time delivery, and customer requirements. Serves as a key liaison between production, planning, purchasing, shipping, and customer service to ensure efficient workflow, material availability, and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Coordinate the release and management of production orders to support production schedules, customer priorities, and delivery commitments.
  • Review and validate production order documentation, including bills of material (BOMs), routings, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to release.
  • Create, maintain, and update production schedules, work orders, and capacity plans to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
  • Monitor production progress and communicate schedule changes, delays, and priorities to production leadership and other functional departments.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Production teams to identify and resolve material shortages, capacity constraints, and production disruptions.
  • Expedite materials, components, and production orders as needed to support customer delivery requirements and manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production data within the company's ERP/MRP system, including order status updates, scheduling information, and inventory transactions.
  • Track and follow up on production orders to ensure timely completion and closure of all required documentation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for production scheduling inquiries and coordinate resolution of issues affecting production flow.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, and Shipping departments to support operational objectives.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to production control, scheduling processes, inventory management, and operational performance.
  • Generate reports and provide production metrics, schedule status updates, and capacity information to management as required.
  • Perform other production planning, scheduling, and coordination duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds
  • Sedentary work, sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Staring at a screen for an extended period.
  • Repetitive fine motor movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists performing tasks such as typing, writing, and moving computer mouse.
  • Occasional prolonged periods of working on feet, stooping, and bending.
