Description

Summary: Responsible for completing and coordinating the day-to-day operational functions of packing, shipping, receiving material, supplies and finished parts as assigned.  Backs up other departments when needed and completes plant improvement projects when assigned. 

Responsibilities & Duties:  

  • Receives direction from the shift supervisor(s) and Plant Manager and provides general instruction and direction to production employees.  
  • Covers tasks and duties in the absence of team members in areas including material handling, inventory, and safety. 
  • Assists in training, coordinating, and motivating the production employees. 
  • Examines material received, verifies part numbers, and checks against quality standards while unloading and loading material from vehicles and material storage locations throughout the warehouse. 
  • Receives incoming inventory records on computer system and ensures current inventory is correctly placed and recorded. 
  • Maintain assembly area and warehouse; ensure neat and orderly storage of material. 
  • Completes warehouse improvement projects as assigned.  
  • Follow and comply with all safety regulations, work rules and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both.

  • Ability to critically think and solve problems. 
  • Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include a computer, overhead crane, metal cutting saw and various small hand tools.  Requires the ability to pass forklift/aerial operator course and drive equipment.

  • Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Repetitive fine motor movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists performing tasks. 
  • Frequently working on foot, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail bending and stooping. 
  • Occasional sedentary work, sitting for extended periods of time.

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
