Background:
World Hope International is a Christian relief and development non-governmental organization (NGO) working in Sierra Leone with vulnerable and exploited communities to alleviate poverty, suffering, and injustice through Health, Education, Anti-trafficking, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, and Livelihood interventions. We operate in the North, South, and East, and have had a head office in Freetown since 1996.
Job Purpose: Our Enable the Children (ETC) program supports children living with disabilities—providing physiotherapy, occupational therapy, family education, and inclusive community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with home visits, helping deliver therapy, psychosocial, and practical support to children with disabilities
Support the running of developmental therapy groups for children and caregivers
Help facilitate family support meetings, community sensitizations, and special events
Provide training and guidance to families and teachers to improve children’s life skills and behavior
Assist in equipment distribution (mobility aids, school supplies, toys)
Promote community inclusion and awareness for children with disabilities
Maintain case documentation and work closely with therapists and family support workers on complex cases
Participate in team coordination, planning sessions, and peer learning
Uphold WHI’s values of dignity, inclusion, compassion, and respect
Qualification:
Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Care Education, Social Work, Special Education, or related field
Experience or strong interest in working with children with disabilities
Willingness to work across diverse Freetown communities, including hilltops and informal settlements
