The Crisis Intervention Worker provides professional care and support to individuals and children fleeing violence through telephone and in-person interactions. Key duties include managing shelter operations, assisting with client admissions, and implementing client-centered case management and goal planning.
Candidates need a diploma or degree in Human Services and three years of experience working with women and children experiencing family violence. Essential qualifications include knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and the ability to pass a vulnerable sector criminal record check.

What We Do
WIN House provides individuals and their children fleeing violence crisis response and intervention, safe temporary accommodation, and support for basic needs. Clients are offered trauma-informed, client-centered programming and support, access to resources, information, and referrals to community support. WIN House is working towards operating within a low-barrier model of care.
What You Will Do
The Crisis Intervention Worker (CIW) plays an integral role within the WIN House team and contributes to the success of the organization by promoting client wellbeing, independence, and success.

The Details
This position is available at WIN I with an immediate start date. It falls within the scope of the collective agreement with CUPE Local 3341. Hours of work are from 23:30 -07:30 working four days on and four off, on an 8-week rotation. The starting hourly wage is $28.74 as per conditions outlined in the Collective Agreement.
Prerequisites
The successful candidate will be required to submit a Criminal Record Check including a vulnerable sector check, a current Child Welfare check, hold a current First Aid Certificate, and must be willing to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
