Summary:
The Teller is responsible for conducting and processing various types of member transactions while delivering the West-Aircomm Experience. This includes providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service to members while adhering to bank teller policy and procedure guidelines while going the extra mile to retain member loyalty and satisfaction. It also requires tellers to maintain a balanced cash drawer and become skilled in the ability to build member relationships to identify products and services to meet the member’s banking needs.

Essential Functions
• Serves members by accurately and efficiently completing account transactions.
• Provides account services to members by receiving deposits, and loan payments cashing checks, issuing withdrawals for regular shares, share drafts, club accounts, money market accounts, and kid’s accounts by check or cash.
• Process night drop and mail deposits.
• Handle regular IRA contributions.
• Sell cashier’s checks, money orders, and gift cards.
• Handle VISA advances, and post VISA payments.
• Process member transfers of funds.
• Open Christmas club and vacation club accounts.
• Close regular shares, share drafts, club accounts, money market accounts, and kid’s accounts.
• Accept safety deposit box payments and other miscellaneous cash transactions.
• Gather appropriate documentation related to Currency Transaction Reports and report information on potentially suspicious activity to the BSA Committee via the unusual activity referral on Verafin.
• Record appropriate transactions in the Monetary Instrument Log.
• Balance teller drawer.
• Co-balance teller vault.
Other Duties
• Cross-sell all credit union’s products and services.
• Go the extra mile to build trusting relationships, member loyalty, and satisfaction.
• Understand and comply with all bank secrecy policies and all other compliance requirements.
• Manage risk in every transaction and detect fraudulent transactions to prevent losses.
• Assist members, answer member questions, and direct the member to the appropriate department.
• Operate and maintain all necessary teller equipment.
• File transfer cards.
• Flexibility to report to and assist other branches upon request.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Teller or Branch Manager; this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Six months of consecutive customer service experience in financial services, retail sales, or a goal- oriented environment preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
For full-time employees, there is an expectation of 37.5 - 40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible, and some late evenings or weekends may be required.
