Responsibilities

The Bulk Clerk is responsible for receiving deliveries, stocking and rotating products, and maintaining inventory standards. They must also ensure a safe work environment and provide excellent customer service to co-op members.

Requirements

Candidates should have a commitment to the co-op's mission and previous retail or customer service experience. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours.

Weavers Way is a not-for-profit organization that’s doing things differently to support our local community. As a member-owned co-op, we don’t exist just to make money. Weavers Way operates on a triple bottom line philosophy known as People-Planet-Profit - which means every action we take, we strive to benefit people (our community, employees, and local vendors), planet (we strive to be one of the most sustainable places around!), and profit (so we can support our team members and operate as a business). By joining us, you’re helping us fulfill our mission of keeping dollars in our local community, supporting over 300 local food vendors, and being a part of strengthening and enriching the people and planet around us.

JOIN US AS A GROCERY AND BULK CLERK!

We are looking for an energetic, community-oriented and experienced individual to work as a Bulk Clerk in our Ambler location. This position is part-time with an anticipated 20-29 hours per week. If you have experience working in a team setting and a passion for great customer service, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Receive product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy.
  • Stock, rotate, merchandise and face product according to department procedure.
  • Maintain back-stock areas according to department standards.
  • Maintain inventory of perishable and non-perishable products as assigned.
  • Assist other clerks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by department head.
  • Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.
  • Wears protective clothing as required for position.
  • Understands and utilizes safe lifting procedures and proper step stools.

Requirements

  • A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
  • Proven customer service or retail experience is a plus.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to remain standing for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours.
  • Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op

And co-ops return financial gains to their members, whether through discounts, lower costs or patronage refunds. People join existing co-ops for a variety of reasons. Whether it is the commitment to community, the democratic approach to business, the desire to be part of a business that is locally owned or something else “uniquely co-op” that appeals, anyone can join a cooperative!
