The LPN performs patient assessments and implements treatment plans under RN supervision within a correctional setting. Key duties include administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and documenting encounters using SOAP charting.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school and maintain current LPN/LVN licensure in the state of employment. A minimum of one year of clinic experience and CPR certification are preferred or required.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies.
