The Resident Monitor provides security for offenders at a Residential Reentry Center, ensuring compliance with facility rules and Federal Bureau of Prisons standards. Responsibilities include patrolling premises, documenting incidents, and managing resident intake and accountability logs.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma and two years of related experience or one year of post-secondary education. A valid driver's license, insured vehicle, and the ability to pass a criminal history investigation are required.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Chief Monitor, the Resident Monitor is responsible for providing security of offenders at the assigned center, documenting records and reports, assist in daily maintenance and janitorial duties for the upkeep of the facility and performing other related duties as assigned. The Resident Monitor must be able to work part-time, as scheduled, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position requires knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
This position may require an incumbent to engage in overnight travel up to 5% of time as well as local travel in and around the community appropriate to the performance of duties and responsibilities. As such, incumbent must have:
Work is primarily performed in a normal office environment generally while seated at a desk. The incumbent must conduct patrol of the RRC facility by completing rounds and security checks inside and outside the facility. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; and stoop, kneel or crouch. Dexterity is required to perform work with personal computer keyboard, calculator and other office equipment. The employee will be required to stand, bend, lift and stoop in performing work.
