The Fraud Specialist will
Organize, communicate, and navigate through fraud cases.
Build member loyalty.
Provide solutions for internal and external members.
Focus on compliance and security.
Demonstrate the ability to be a decision maker.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assist members who are victims of fraud to get their situation resolved.
Research Lumin, Meridian Link, Synergy, Synapsys, and Symitar for fraud activity and timelines.
Act quickly to stop potential losses.
Identify when someone is a victim or is involved in the fraud by utilizing high impact questions and conducting proper research.
Make decisions on how to proceed with the outcome of member accounts. Expel fraudsters or repeat victims as needed.
Maintain the Fraud Service Event queue in Synapsys.
Facilitate proper account closures, necessary file maintenance, and preform loan transfers utilizing the Loan Transfer Specfile in Symitar.
Ensure the Fraud Service Event is being used correctly by staff and looping people into the event as needed.
Maintain a separate fraud spreadsheet with personal notes and statuses.
Send bi-weekly expulsion updates to direct supervisor and the AVP of Member Solutions and Member Services and other fraud team managers.
Prepare monthly fraud report with any frontline trends that are seen.
Take appointments scheduled for fraud at the First Street branch.
Maintain high level of communication with members of ongoing cases.
Work with MSRs at other branches to be a liaison with members involved in fraud case who go to those branches.
Work closely with Fraud Analyst in Security and Compliance on complex cases.
Effectively communicate roadblocks with direct supervisor.
Assist with MSR overflow needs at the First Street branch and through virtual appointments.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

QualificationsExperience
3 to 5 years of similar experience or related experience with an independent workload.
Education
- A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Working knowledge of established teller procedures and policies. Understanding of Credit Union operations. Communicates information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners.
