We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Leading Hand – Electrical to join our highly skilled team and take on a critical role in managing workshop operations. About Your Role:
· Lead and support a team of electrical tradespeople in a collaborative and safety-first environment.
· Plan and deliver projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.
· Prepare quotes, inspection reports, and work plans to ensure smooth project execution.
· Manage resources, materials, and equipment to meet deadlines and safety standards.
· Mentor and develop team members to help them grow and succeed.
· Drive continuous improvement and contribute to a culture of innovation.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is not only technically skilled but also a great communicator and team leader. You’ll bring:
· Experience in a Leading Hand or Foreperson role, ideally in an industrial or workshop setting.
· A strong commitment to safety and experience with risk assessments.
· Knowledge of AC/DC motor rewinds and flameproof motors (AS 3800).
· Ability to plan and manage projects, including quoting and inspections.
· A collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring others.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Current QLD Electrical License (required)
· Relevant Trade Certificate
· Experience with industrial electric vehicle component overhauls (advantageous)
· HVNL Load Manager training (preferred)
· Proficiency in or a willingness to learn systems such as SAP.
· Sound understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

This network ensures the safe movement of people and goods throughout the regions of NSW, and links Sydney with many important regional centres. UGL Regional Linx commenced operations on January 30 2022 and works on behalf of the client, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and will be responsible for managing an important network of assets. As part of its operation, UGL Regional Linx’s scope of work includes: • Network operations • Rail infrastructure maintenance and implementation of a new train control system - UGL’s proprietary system, Sigview. • Asset and property management, and • Safety, access, performance, and environmental management. UGL Regional Linx has made a strong commitment to local and indigenous employment, further strengthening the organisation’s commitment to regional NSW. As part of its operations, UGL Regional Linx established its head office and Network Control Centre in the heart of the Central West, Orange, NSW.
