The Child Life Specialist assesses and addresses the psychosocial and developmental needs of hospitalized children and their families. They implement therapeutic interventions to improve coping skills and enhance overall psychosocial functioning.
A bachelor's degree in a human service or child development field is required, with a master's degree preferred. Candidates must be a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), or be eligible for certification within one year.
