Trenam Law is looking for a full-time Billing Specialist to join our growing Billing team in our downtown Tampa office. This role involves working closely with attorneys to prepare and submit client bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and client guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
· Partner with attorneys and staff to prepare, edit, and submit legal bills through various platforms
· Maintain accurate records of billing guidelines, special arrangements, rates, fee caps, formats, and expense rules
· Manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
· Coordinate with the Rates and New Matter teams to ensure accurate billing details and client updates
· Submit invoices via eBilling systems and handle rejections, appeals, and billing issues
· Address billing questions and problems for both internal teams and clients
· Collaborate with attorneys and clients to resolve complex billing issues
· Proactively recommend improvements and efficiencies to existing processes
· Collaborate with the Accounting department to troubleshoot billing-related matters
· Flexible and willing to work with others on various projects not related to billing.
Requirements
Requirements:
High School Diploma required
At least 2 years’ experience in billing, accounting, or customer service (legal or medical billing preferred)
Experience with Aderant Time Entry
Strong math, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Detail-oriented and able to multitask under pressure
Willingness to work overtime when necessary
Additional Details:
Professional office setting with standard office equipment
Full-time: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (with a 1-hour lunch)
Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines
