What We Are Looking For
The Cashier & Customer Service Representative is a critical front-line role within TGU’s retail operations. This position ensures exceptional customer service, accurate transaction processing, and a welcoming store environment. The role fits within the retail team and reports directly to the Site Manager. It does not manage people but collaborates closely with team members to support daily operations.
Success in the first 12 months includes
Consistently delivering excellent customer service
Maintaining accuracy in all POS transactions and daily closeouts
Keeping the workspace clean, organized, and safe
Demonstrating reliability, urgency, and teamwork aligned with TGU values
What You Will Do
Provide prompt and friendly customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Process POS transactions efficiently and accurately, including cash, credit card, and check handling.
Perform monetary transactions with precision, including giving and receiving accurate change.
Run daily reports and balance daily closeout to ensure financial accuracy.
Answer telephone inquiries promptly and professionally.
Maintain a clean, neat, safe, and secure work area.
Gain in-depth knowledge of TGU’s product line to assist customers effectively.
Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a tidy environment.
Collaborate with team members to support store operations and achieve shared goals.
Adapt to additional duties as needed to support the retail team and TGU’s mission.
Required Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in retail, customer service, or a related field.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling transactions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently or as part of a team.
Demonstrated reliability, flexibility, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with POS systems or cash-handling processes.
Customer service training or certification.
Basic knowledge of sustainable or green products.
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse customers.

QualificationsEssential Qualifications
HS diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of cashier experience
Bilingual skills in Spanish and English
Basic knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook
Confident, customer focused, and professional
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Basic mathematical skills including a strong eye for detail
Available to work the required shift hours/days, including Monday to Friday and rotating Saturdays
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work, and a valid State issued driver's license
Desired Qualifications
Wholesale experience in a garden center, nursery, or farming
Experience or education in the horticulture, agriculture or related field
