The Adoption Home Study Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for prospective adoptive parents and facilitates information meetings. They also provide essential administrative support by maintaining client files, coordinating training courses, and assisting with the documentation required for the adoption process.
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in a human service organization or administrative support role, with a preference for an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
Description
The Adoption Home Study Support Specialist plays a critical role in assisting prospective adoptive parent clients navigate the administrative aspects of the home study and adoption process in a manner that is consistent with the mission and goals of the agency and is an integral member of the Adoptive Parent Services team. The Adoption Home Study Support Specialist is the first point of contact at The Cradle for prospective adoptive parents, responding to prospective adoptive parent inquiries and facilitating Information Meetings.
This position is expected to contribute positively to overall culture within the organization and to work collaboratively with colleagues in all departments.

Services include options counseling for women facing unplanned pregnancies, pre and post adoption education for parents, an adoption-competent clinical therapy program, outreach and education, and placement services. The Cradle is the only adoption agency in the country with an on-site nursery. It is a safe, neutral place for infants to stay while their parents take the time they need to decide if adoption will be the plan for this child. The nursery also enables The Cradle to place infants whose special medical needs may mean that it takes a bit longer to find them a home that is prepared to help them thrive. We also offer training for prospective adoptive parents and adoption professionals through Adoption Learning Partners (ALP).
