TEXAS LEHIGH CEMENT COMPANY LP - WACO, TX

 

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Terminal Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operations of the terminal that receives stores, and ships cement through both truck and rail transportation. This position oversees all terminal operations, including shipping, railcar unloading and loading, truck loading, inventory management, preventative maintenance coordination, environmental compliance, customer service, contractor management, and employee leadership. The Terminal Manager is accountable for maintaining uninterrupted product flow while ensuring compliance with all Company policies, OSHA/MSHA, DOT, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Direct all daily terminal operations involving the receipt, storage, handling, and shipment of bulk cement.
  • Oversee rail operations including receiving, spotting, unloading, loading, inspecting, and releasing railcars.
  • Coordinate daily shipping schedules with dispatch, transportation providers, production facilities, and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, team members, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure loading systems, conveyors, dust collection equipment, compressors, silos, scales, and associated equipment operate efficiently.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a secure and clean work environment.
  • Coordinate product transfers between silos while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate railcar inspections and report damaged equipment.
  • Arranges for equipment repair or preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on terminal operations, including inventory levels, safety incidents, and performance metrics.
  • Promote safe practice, enforcing safety and security standards, and conducting risk assessments.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by management to meet the ongoing needs of operations.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective leadership, delegation, and people skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and database systems.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including rotating, extended hours, and respond to call outs.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Accurate record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and prioritize.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in demanding physical conditions include walking over rough and uneven surfaces, climbing ladders up to 20 feet and stairs, bending, pushing, pulling, and working in awkward positions, working in confined spaces, lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass required background checks, physical examination, and drug screening.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in terminal operations or similar roles, preferably in the cement or construction materials industry.
