Monitor and support enterprise data pipelines, ETL jobs, and reporting systems to ensure SLA adherence. Identify job failures, perform restarts according to SOPs, and manage incidents via ticketing systems.
Requires 1-3 years of experience with exposure to ETL operations and IBM DataStage. Candidates must possess basic SQL skills for data validation and the ability to handle production incidents calmly.
The L1 Data Operations Analyst is responsible for monitoring, operating, and supporting enterprise data pipelines and reporting systems to ensure SLA adherence and uninterrupted business reporting.
Monitor DataStage ETL jobs, data pipelines, and batch schedules
Identify and respond to job failures, delays, and alerts
Perform job restarts and reruns as per SOPs
Validate data loads using basic SQL checks (row counts, file arrival)
Monitor Cognos report refresh and availability
Log, update, and manage incidents in ticketing systems
Escalate issues to L2 with complete diagnostic context
Participate in shift handovers and operational reporting
Exposure to ETL / data pipeline operations
Basic understanding of Data Warehouse & Data Lake concepts
Familiarity with IBM DataStage (monitoring & execution)
Basic SQL for validation
Ability to read logs and error messages
Experience with incident/ticketing tools
Strong communication and documentation skills
Process-driven mindset
Comfortable working in support operations
Ability to handle incidents calmly
