We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support critical HR functions that directly impact our employees, clients, and regulatory standing.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist partners closely with the Human Resources Director and Talent Acquisition team to ensure HR operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals. This role is heavily focused on regulatory compliance, personnel file integrity, and workforce oversight, particularly within behavioral health and HCBS environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with DBHDS regulations and personnel file requirements • Maintain compliance with HCBS workforce standards and person-centered service requirements • Support CARF accreditation standards related to HR and workforce development • Conduct HR compliance audits and maintain personnel files • Oversee Virginia Central Registry checks and background screenings • Manage Fieldprint fingerprinting and criminal background investigations • Administer E-Verify and employment eligibility verification • Ensure accurate I-9 completion, auditing, and record retention • Verify and monitor licenses, certifications, and credentials • Lead onboarding and offboarding in accordance with requirements • Support employee relations, corrective actions, and performance management • Assist with payroll, benefits, and HR operations
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree 5+ years HR experience DBHDS/behavioral health compliance experience preferred
