Ready to grow your skills in a customer-focused banking environment? We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as Universal Bankers! This flexible part-time role offers 20 hours per week during weekday business hours, schedule Monday through Friday between 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

Position Summary

The Universal Banker (UB-Marshfield) requires an associate to fulfill the responsibilities of Teller, Personal Banker, and certain duties otherwise contained within the Business Banking Assistant position.   The UB-Marshfield is responsible for:  providing exceptional service to an existing portfolio of consumer and business/agricultural clients as well as managing growth through proactive business development; advising bank customers in their selection of financial products and services; processing transactions; and is accountable for loan, deposit, and revenue growth.  The UB-Marshfield is also responsible for expanding the relationship along with targeting new customers and prospects to ensure branch growth.  Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state compliance regulations and Bank policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions                                                                                                                        

  1. Engage State Bank Financials’ clients by welcoming them with a warm friendly smile, pleasant demeanor, using the client’s name, whenever possible, and thanking them for doing business with the Bank according to our Culture of CARE . 
  2. Responsible for new customer acquisition and managing an existing customer portfolio to ensure branch growth by utilizing sales skills, identifying prospects, follow through on all leads and actively increasing the number of products/services used by customers. 
  3. Attend community events, volunteers, and serves the Branch’s community while continuing to grow visibility within the market. Actively participate in business development activities for the purpose of attracting additional profitable business for the Bank.
  4. Accurately process deposits and withdrawals for consumer and business customers, loan payments, money orders, foreign currency, and gift cards.
  5. Understand and strictly follow all security, compliance, regulatory, internal control procedures, policies, and laws.
  6. Assist customers with account opening, maintenance, documentation and the utilization of technology and resources the bank has available.  
  7. Accurately perform the consumer loan application process through closing.
  8. Complete timely and accurate documentation of client relationship information.
  9. Educate clients on self-service capabilities and encourage use of digital service channels.
  10. Provide administrative support to Business/Agricultural Banking Relationship Managers including, but not limited to contacting customers for needed documentation, photocopying and scanning documents into customer folders, and other miscellaneous duties as needed. 
  11. Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis with Branch Managers approval/awareness. Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
  12. Other job-related duties may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Software/Technology

Operates personal computer in a Windows environment for word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet/intranet and other bank specific software.  Utilizes a variety of office equipment including computer printer, ten-key calculator, fax machine, scanner/copier, and multi-line telephone.

Education and Experience 

Customer Service experience required.  Prefer associate or bachelor’s degree, and previous banking experience.   

Other Skills and Abilities

  1. Strong working knowledge of MS Office products; ability to effectively utilize State Bank Financial operating systems.
  2. Must possess ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential customer and Bank information; legible handwriting; effective problem-solving skills.  
  3. Must have ability to be bonded to obtain Notary certification.
  4. Must have NMLS certification or have the ability to obtain NMLS registration.

Working Conditions 

Work is performed largely in an office environment, during normal business hours. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job.  Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage and reading/assimilating complex and technical compliance information is required.  Position will alternate between walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds of office supplies and/or documents throughout work shift.
