Job Description
The Hematology Medical Director, VEXAS leads medical strategy and external engagement for the VEXAS disease area within the Vonjo (pacritinib) Medical Affairs organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical leader to shape how Sobi supports the VEXAS patient and provider community—building scientific credibility and trust across the hematology, rheumatology, dermatology, and inflammation communities in an emerging and complex disease area.
Reporting to the Head of Vonjo Medical Affairs, this individual will serve as the lead medical voice for VEXAS, driving the US medical strategy and partnering closely with Field Medical to engage and educate healthcare providers (HCPs), medical organizations, payers, and patient advocacy groups. The role also serves as the medical lead on the Brand Team and collaborates cross-functionally to advance shared business goals.
Major Responsibilities
Serve as the lead medical strategist for VEXAS, providing strategic direction for medical strategy, brand-aligned tactics, and external clinician engagement across academic, community, and multidisciplinary care settings
Partner with the Field Medical Team to develop and strengthen KOL and key institution engagement plans, positioning Sobi as the scientific partner of choice for VEXAS
Collaborate with Field Medical to identify resource needs and co-develop field materials and tactics specific to VEXAS
Lead planning and execution of advisory boards and educational activities, including webinars, medical roundtables, symposia, and congress presence
Generate and share medical insights with internal partners, using them to refine strategy and tactics
Build strong collaborative relationships across Market Access, Medical Information, Clinical Development, Sales, and Marketing
Contribute to evidence generation projects, real-world evidence studies, and publications supporting the VEXAS disease area
Support launch readiness through disease education, articulation of unmet need, and evidence generation planning
Uphold the collaborative culture of Hematology Medical Affairs—one that respects and appreciates every team member while encouraging one another toward excellence and a shared purpose

Demonstrated ability to build meaningful, bi-directional relationships with the medical community
Strong scientific and clinical acumen paired with strategic and analytical thinking
Proven leadership across core Medical Affairs functions, such as evidence generation, publications, medical education, and strategy development
A collaborative, cross-functional mindset with the motivation to work effectively across all levels of the organization
A results-driven approach marked by urgency, solution-orientation, and innovation
A self-starting, hands-on team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a fast-paced environment
An unwavering patient focus
