The Assistant Cook supports the meals program by preparing and distributing food while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and sanitation. They also collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure a clean dining environment and accurate reporting of in-kind contributions.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent kitchen experience. Serv-Safe training is preferred, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods is required.

The Cook Assistant needs to ensure that food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met under the supervision of the Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager. The cook assistant will be responsible for reporting any food/kitchen/donation issues to the GWHC Manager on Duty.
