The Director of Production leads all theater production requirements, teams, and operations across Broadway and off-Broadway venues. They are responsible for strategic oversight, annual budget management, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all creative and production staff.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in a director role within a theater production department. Proficiency in technical theater disciplines, budget management, and knowledge of collective bargaining agreements are required.

Position Overview
The Director of Production is a leader of all theatre production requirements and teams. The Director of Production reports to the Artistic Director while working in collaboration with the Executive Director. As a senior staff member, they are responsible for leading the production management team of all Second Stage’s Theaters both on Broadway and off. This position will provide long-term and seasonal strategic oversight. This position will oversee the Production Management team and oversee the production, creation and running aspects of all Second Stages annual programming. As a key senior member, it is imperative that the Director of Production creates a positive, inclusive and safe environment for all production and creative teams while maintaining a timely and cost-effective execution of all production events.

Work Environment
Time will be spent in an office with quiet to moderate noise level and in the theatre with often loud and amplified noises. The office environment requires using the computer, phone, and other routine office equipment. Majority of the work will be performed inside at room temperature.
Physical Requirements
Position requires long periods of sitting. While sitting in the office, employee is required to use hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboard and other office equipment. The employee may often use stairs throughout the day and walk throughout the theatres.
Hours of Work
Second Stage’s working hours are 10 AM to 6 PM. Hours will also include nights and weekends, as assigned.
