Woodruff Arts Center employees play an integral role in creating and supporting great art and education initiatives at the nation’s third largest arts center. Comprised of three Art Partners—Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and High Museum of Art—there’s a role for everyone at The Woodruff.

The Director of People Rewards & Wellbeing is responsible for the planning and administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, workers compensation, transportation and 403(b) plans. As the organization’s benefits expert, the Benefits Director strategically aligns the needs of employees, the finances of the organization and the benefits market.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and recommends plan design, does financial analysis, and implements agreed upon health and welfare plans
  • Manages broker and vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of excellent service to employees
  • Oversees setup and accuracy of HRIS benefits information to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Assists with new-hire orientations and on-boarding of new employees
  • Performs quality checks and audits of benefits-related data
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA
  • Effectively interprets federal, and state laws including FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
  • Responds to 403(b) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts
  • Plans and manages the annual open enrollment process
  • Manages workers compensation cases in collaboration with administrator and in compliance with State Worker Compensation laws
  • Provides accurate and necessary reports to Woodruff Arts Center Finance for allocation/billing charges

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Proficient with HRIS systems, Workday experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Associate degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education
  • Ten+ years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
