Job Title: Graduate Analyst - Investigations, Security & Diplomacy (ISD)

Reporting to: Associates and Senior Associates

Job Purpose:

Your primary role will be to conduct targeted investigative research as part of strategies deployed to protect and enhance our clients’ reputations, privacy, and security. This involves working across a range of online information environments, including deep and dark web sources.

You will deliver your work directly to matter managers across the firm, with opportunities to collaborate closely within Investigations, Security and Diplomacy (ISD) and with teams across the firm, including Digital Resilience and Strategic Communications.

You will receive on-the-job training to support your development as an analyst. This will combine structured sessions with hands-on experience, building your understanding of investigations, security and diplomacy work, and teaching you how to use key databases, tools and research techniques.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Following initial training, conduct targeted investigative research to support matter teams and internal stakeholders across the firm. This scope of work will likely include review and analysis of press reporting, social media, and broader public records across a variety of subject matters and jurisdictions. Geopolitical analysis may be required, dependent on the matter context.
  • Assist in monitoring and collecting information from traditional and social media, and broader online environments where relevant, including deep and dark web sources. Set matter-related alerts and produce summary reports in emails and formal reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, depending on requirements.
  • Stay up to date with emerging investigative tools and techniques, including those relevant to deep and dark web research, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our research capabilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • A critical, logical, and lateral thinker who is intrinsically curious and inquisitive.
  • A strong interest in digital information environments and online research, including a general awareness of deep and dark web spaces and how they are used.
  • Technical or analytical skills (e.g. data analysis, coding, or working with datasets) are advantageous.
  • Succinct, clear written communication and persuasive drafting skills; with excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, respond nimbly to urgent requests and competing deadlines, and effectively prioritise and organise tasks.
  • Interest and awareness in current affairs, including geopolitical developments.
  • Experience of undertaking research projects desirable.
  • Structures findings in a logical manner which directly addresses the question or problem being solved.
  • Strong personal and relationship building skills.
  • Strong desire to provide exceptional service to internal and external clients, often under pressure.
  • Team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
