The Inclusion Aide supports children with special needs by facilitating their participation in after-school activities and providing academic tutoring. They also ensure student safety, implement behavior modification techniques, and provide necessary physical or social-emotional accommodations.
Candidates must have at least 6 months of experience in child supervision and a background in special education or child development. Educational requirements include 48 college units, a passing CAPE test score, or 12 units in Child Development, along with mandatory health and background clearances.
• Encourages children’s participation in after school activities
• Supervision of 1-6 kindergarten through eighth grade children
• Tutor individuals and small groups in academic subjects
• Reinforces behavior modification techniques determined by school staff and Site Supervisor
• Ensure appropriate environment and safety of children
• Develop lesson plans in accordance with educational and/or guidance program
• Ability to provide individual accommodations as needed to meet the physical and social-emotional needs of the student(s)
• Sometimes medical assistance or toileting assistance may be needed
