The Journeyperson Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage electrical equipment in substations. They also provide leadership, training, and mentorship to Electrical Apprentices while ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and technical standards.
Candidates must hold a valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate and possess at least 5 years of electrical experience, including 2 years in substations. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and the ability to work at heights and in remote locations are also required.

What You'll Do
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the role of Journeyperson Electrician is to perform maintenance, upgrading and installation of equipment in 13.8kV to 500 kV substations. Under this role the Journeyperson Electrician reads and interprets drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications. The Journeyperson Electrician is also responsible for planning layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on specifications. The Journeyperson Electrician inspects electrical systems, components and equipment to identify defects and to ensure compliance with codes. This is a senior role which requires performance evaluation, coaching mentoring and training of Electrical Apprentices.
