Children's Support WorkerCambridgeshire & Hertfordshire

£17.50–£24.00 per hour PAYE (including holiday pay)| £20.00–£28.00 per hour Umbrella

Make a Lasting Difference in a Young Person's Life

At Paragon Social Care, we believe every young person deserves stability, encouragement, and someone they can rely on. We provide specialist support for children and young people in local authority care, helping them navigate challenging periods and build brighter futures.

We're looking for dependable, compassionate individuals to join our growing team across Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. If you're calm under pressure, enjoy working with young people, and want a role where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Children's Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs within residential settings and community-based support packages.

This is a hands-on role where you'll help provide structure, consistency and positive role modelling while supporting young people to achieve their individual goals.

Whether it's helping with daily routines, encouraging independence, supporting education, or simply being a trusted adult during difficult moments, your work will have a genuine impact.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing safe, consistent and trauma-informed support.
  • Building positive, professional relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Supporting education, life skills and independence.
  • Encouraging participation in hobbies, activities and healthy routines.
  • Transporting young people to school, appointments and community activities.
  • Working alongside professionals to deliver high-quality care.
  • Completing accurate records and contributing to safeguarding processes.
We're Looking For People Who Are
  • Caring, patient and emotionally resilient.
  • Reliable with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Confident communicating with young people and professionals.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Passionate about helping children achieve positive outcomes.
Essential Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle for work.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 2–3 shifts per week.
  • Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people (paid or voluntary).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Care or equivalent.
What We Offer
  • £17.50–£24.00 per hour PAYE (including holiday pay).
  • £20.00–£28.00 per hour Umbrella.
  • Flexible shifts to suit your availability.
  • Ongoing specialist training and professional development.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Employee referral bonus.
  • Supportive, experienced management team.
  • Meaningful work where you can make a genuine difference every day.
Why Join Paragon Social Care?

We're proud to be a values-led organisation that invests in our staff and recognises the importance of creating a positive, supportive working environment. You'll be joining a team committed to helping young people feel safe, valued and empowered to reach their potential.

If you're looking for a rewarding role with real purpose, we'd love to hear from you.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore all shortlisted candidates must disclose any convictions or cautions that are not protected under current filtering legislation. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to satisfactory safer recruitment checks which includes an Enhanced DBS Check.
