Scope: Reports to the appropriate Block Line Shift Supervisor. This position requires constant attention and focus on the task at hand. The position requires a level of timeliness and accuracy when mixing or processing product, ability to make adjustments with line parameters to maintain quality levels, and alert others in cases of non-standard product or process problems.

General Summary: This position has varied job tasks that may include mixing and weighing of powdered chemicals, weighing and sizing product, lifting materials, pushing/pulling of material, labeling product, and identifying non-conforming product.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Mixing Position:

Lift and carry raw material bags or boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.

Read and comprehend written work orders.

Using a table scale, accurately weigh and bag powdered chemicals.

Kneader Machine Position:

• Load raw materials weighing up to 50 lbs. into the machine in a timely manner. 

• Enter data into computer program.

• Push a wheeled cart with product, weighing up to 150 lbs., from Kneader Machine to Extruder Elevator and dump (5’-10’ travel distance).

Cutting-Scale Table / Main Oven Loading Position:

• Lift and carry a block of material, weighing up to 50 lbs., from the Extruder to the Scale Table. 

• Follow written work orders, to accurately trim and weigh blocks, achieving the required weight.

• Lift and carry blocks of material, weighing up to 50 lbs., from the Scale Table to the Pre-Heat Oven Press and load into Press.

• Using a wand sprayer, lubricate all plates in the Main Oven Press with release agent.

• Lift and carry blocks of material, weighing up to 50 lbs., from the Pre-Heat Oven Press to the Main Oven Press and load into appropriate Press chamber. 

• Accurately measure the material size, after completion of cycle, when Main Oven Press opens.

Main Oven Unload / CT Oven Load-Unload Position:

• Using a wand sprayer lubricate all plates, in the CT Oven Press, with release agent.

• After the Main Oven Press completes its cycle and opens, pull the blocks of material, weighing up to 50 lbs., from the exit side of the Main Oven Press and place on a wheeled cart.

• Remove edge scrap from all blocks and push wheeled cart to the appropriate CT Oven Press.

• Lift and load blocks of material, weighing up to 50 lbs., into the appropriate CT Press chamber.

CT Oven Press Unload Position:

• After the CT Oven Press completes its cycle and opens, pull the blocks of material, weighing up to 50 lbs., from the Press and stack on a wheeled cart.

• Using a colored crayon, mark appropriate identification information on the side of each block and push the wheeled cart, weighing up to 150 lbs., to the Block Washer Machine (100’ travel distance).

Block Wash & Inspection:

• Lift and load blocks, weighing up to 50 lbs., onto the Washer Machine track and cycle through the washing process to remove dirt, grease, and release agent. 

• Unload blocks from Washer Machine, into wheeled vertical rack after wash cycle has completed.

• Inspect each block using appropriate visual and dimensional quality standards.

• Segregate good product from non-conforming product by lifting blocks, weighing up to 50 lbs., onto floor level pallets.

• Document quality and production information into appropriate logs or by entering in computer program as required.

Miscellaneous:

• Using an electric pallet jack, change Oven Press plates, molds, or inserts.
